When I was little I used to have a lovely babysitter who would look after us when my folks had a night out. She always used to draw something for me when I went to bed and I remember being super excited to find out what she had drawn in the morning, she'd leave it on the coffee table in the living room. One of these drawings that I still remember to this day was a garden scene with bugs and butterflies and a pond. I remember trying to replicate it and just not having the finesse she had with the pencil crayons that I had with my kokis and twisties - remember those? Needless to say it encouraged me to draw and experiment and probably attributed somewhat to my love of art.
Most of my initial drawing skills came from my Mum sitting down with me and a book that taught one to draw starting using an egg shape. I absolutely loved creating animals from that egg shape and probably made her draw more than she wanted to! Thank you Mum for allowing me to explore that creative process, it's allowed me to make a living while doing something that brings me so much joy.
Anyway todays garden themed colouring page is inspired by my babysitter's drawings. I hope you enjoy colouring it in as much as I enjoyed creating it.
Have a super Tuesday!
